Gary has a Canon 5D and I have a Canon 40D. I'm looking to sell my 40D and upgrade to either a 70D or 5D (problem is we'll lose the higher frames per second with the 5D). Thoughts?
I have heard awesome things about the 7D. If I were choosing between the 5Dmk1 and the 7D I would choose the 7D. Newer technology, high frames per second, HD video, etc. 7D all the way. You have full frame sensor camera already. Upgrade to the 7D. (I get the sense you will love the video option...it's hard to use but money when you get it right.) Keep us posted. I love hearing about gear purchases.
I've also heard great things about the frame rate in the 7d, which also has a 1:1 view finder despite it being a crop-sensor camera. I have a new unused 7D I'm selling (long story) and if you decide to go the way of the 7D, let me know! (you can get my email from Jackie, or vice versa)
